Trained Operators Work More Efficiently

How your operators handle equipment plays a big role in fuel efficiency and overall jobsite performance. Taking steps to reduce idle time and taking advantage of equipment technology both contribute to reduced fuel consumption and fewer emissions. The choices you make today make a difference.

On many jobsites, idle time can make up a significant percentage of running time. Here's a look at the effect it can have on fuel costs.

Fuel-saving technology is built into much of today's Cat equipment. Features like Economy Mode help improve fuel efficiency without sacrificing productivity.

Fuel Choices Reduce Lifecycle Greenhouse Gas Emissions

Many Cat products already operate on lower-carbon intensity fuels. That includes biodiesel, renewable diesel and biogas.*

*Refer to guidelines for successful application. Please consult your Cat dealer or “Caterpillar Machine Fluids Recommendations” (SEBU6250) for details. These fuels do not reduce CO2 emissions at the tailpipe.

HVO

You can use 100% hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO) as a drop-in replacement for diesel in Cat engines. No engine conversion is needed. And there's no impact on the standard warranty, maintenance intervals, fluids or filters.

Biodiesel

Another drop-in fuel replacement for your Cat engines is biodiesel — commonly up to B20. Biodiesel is a renewable, nontoxic and biodegradable fuel. And like HVO, using it won't affect your warranty or maintenance practices.
