For Worldwide Release: September 14, 2017
Release Number: EEPR1217
PEORIA, IL – Caterpillar Inc. today announced that its Cat® 3512C diesel generator set won Product of the Year from Consulting-Specifying Engineer (CSE) magazine in the Emergency, On-Site and Standby Power category.
Each year, CSE announces finalists for best new products in the HVAC, fire/life safety, electrical, and plumbing systems engineering markets, opening a two-month voting period to choose the winner in each product category.
“The Cat 3512C was engineered to meet evolving customer demands, including better power density and higher power ratings,” said Lenaik Andrieux, general manager for Caterpillar’s Large Electric Power Division. “This award shows that we not only met our customer needs but exceeded them in the eyes of Consulting-Specifying Engineer readers.”
The Cat 3512C is rated at 1,750 kW for 60 Hz standby applications and is the latest power solution to benefit from ongoing updates to Caterpillar’s 3500 Series engine platform. The generator set has a market-leading footprint of 151.56 square feet, saving up to 13 percent of installed space when compared with other generator sets at the same rating. Its reduced size minimizes handling costs, lowers expenditures for foundations and supporting structures, and leaves more space for business operations.
Caterpillar is a leader in the power generation marketplace with power systems engineered to deliver unmatched durability, reliability and value. The company offers worldwide product support, with parts and service available globally through the Cat authorized service and dealer network. In addition, dealer service technicians are trained to service the entire Cat generator set and ancillary equipment.
