Moscow, Russia – Caterpillar Global Petroleum will showcase its Arctic packaging solutions at the upcoming MIOGE show in Moscow, Russia, June 25th – 28th. Caterpillar meets the needs of oil and gas customers operating in Russia with Arctic package enclosures for the complete line of Cat® diesel and gas generator sets which are designed and built locally. These power modules can be equipped with different control systems, switchgears and can have additional options such as fuel and oil tanks, air recirculation channels and fire -fighting systems to meet customer specific project and ambient requirements. In addition, Cat power modules can include the new Dynamic Gas Blending retrofit kit for land production. This transformational technology offers substantial fuel savings by continuously adjusting gas substitution for optimal performance.
In addition to meeting the Caterpillar application and installation requirements, all Arctic packages for the Russian region are designed and manufactured according to the Russian standards and norms and are GOST certified. “We have a strong history and footprint working in the severe climate conditions in the Russian oilfields and understand the specific customer requirements in this region,” said Vladimir Shatrovsky, Caterpillar Global Petroleum business development manager. “The ambient temperature can vary from -50 C to 40 C at the same given location throughout the year. As a result, we have developed strict design requirements for our enclosures and can offer unmatched after sale support in the region.”
A key differentiator for Cat Arctic packages is both product and parts availability. Inventory is maintained in Russia to enable quick packaging to specific customer needs. Many of the packages, including the 1 megawatt power module, are locally packaged in Russia. All manufactured packages are tested before shipping to ensure successful commissioning and operation at the job site and include a standard two year warranty. Technical documentation, drawings and decals are always provided in Russian. Parts availability is a non-issue due to the extensive presence of the Cat dealer network throughout the region.
