Cat® undercarriage systems provide efficient hydraulic power and superior track motion control. Our undercarriages serve the construction, material handling, quarry, mining, and forestry industries in a wide variety of ways, delivering lower operating and maintenance costs and increased lifecycle value to your machines. We welcome the opportunity to learn more about your company’s unique needs—and to show you how turning to Caterpillar for custom or standard undercarriage systems can lead to comprehensive solutions that help build your business.
Cat undercarriage is factory and field tested. Tests have shown that Cat undercarriage delivers up to 2 times the life of competitive undercarriage. Let us help you determine the best solution for your operation.
Because Caterpillar manufactures its own undercarriage, every component meets strict specifications and quality standards that no competitor can match. Durable, reliable components result in lower operating costs.
Caterpillar engineers understand how application demands wear undercarriage components. They design undercarriage as a system. Each one is built to take on specific conditions such as sand, gravel, mud and clay.
Cat undercarriage is supported worldwide by the unparalleled Caterpillar Parts Distribution System and Cat Dealer Network.
Our undercarriages can be found worldwide in rotary blast hole drills, forestry equipment, and the complete line of Cat® Drills.
Caterpillar engineers have developed computerized analysis systems to determine the correct undercarriage for your application. This helps yield low operating costs, long service life, and great value.
The weight of a machine is very important in determining undercarriage size. However, the size of undercarriage components used on a crawler tractor is not necessarily the same size that should be used on a different type of machine of similar size and weight.
Most OEM applications are slow speed (3.5 mph or less) and would be best served by using hydraulic excavator undercarriage arrangements. Generally applications above 3.5 mph are best served with crawler tractor arrangements.
Undercarriage life is determined, in part, by the operating environment, normal and maximum operating speeds, and job function. Regardless of the machine’s function, proper design and service can extend the life of the undercarriage.
Undercarriages are available in class sizes based on Cat excavator models 303.5, 305, 307, 312, 315, 320, 325, 330, 345, 365, and 385. Options include different track shoe width and track shoe configurations such as double or triple grouser. In addition, track frames are available with oscillation and in standard, long, extra long and super long sizes. Multiple final drive gearbox and motor options are available.
