For Release: August 1, 2022
DEERFIELD, IL - Caterpillar Inc. today announced the extension of its series of standby diesel generator sets that adds three new 60 Hz power nodes from 20 to 30 kW for telecommunications, small industrial and commercial applications in North America.
Now available for orders through Cat dealers and powered by the Cat® C2.2 engine, the Cat D20, D25, and D30 generator sets meet the U.S. EPA’s emergency emission standards as well as all applicable UL and C-UL standards. They feature exceptional performance, a minimal footprint, prompt parts availability, and optional steel or aluminum enclosures.
“This expanded series of generator sets provides additional choices for customers by delivering Caterpillar reliability and quality in lower power nodes,” said Jaime Mineart, general manager for Caterpillar Electric Power.
Leveraging field-proven Cat engines already used in heavy-duty equipment around the world, the new generator sets are ideal for a wide range of small standby applications, such as small healthcare, retail and commercial enterprises, telecommunications, water and wastewater treatment operations, municipal infrastructure, and office buildings.
They include Caterpillar’s standard two-year warranty for standby power solutions, with a suite of additional extended service coverage options available. They can be factory-equipped with the customer’s choice of a steel or aluminum enclosure for superior sound attenuation, access for operation and maintenance, security, and protection from the elements.
Additionally, Caterpillar is providing Cat Connect hardware and a standard Cat Remote Asset Monitoring subscription to customers with each new generator set. This package provides data visualization, reporting and alerts through an easy-to-use web interface or mobile app. It enables operators and Cat dealers to track and manage generator set operation, flag potential problems, perform remote troubleshooting, manage operational expenses, and leverage long-term archives of site performance history to identify opportunities for further operational or system enhancements.
Caterpillar delivers innovative power systems engineered for sustainability, durability, reliability and value. The company offers worldwide product support, parts and services, and customer value agreements through the Cat authorized service and dealer network. In addition, dealer technicians are trained to provide a comprehensive range of maintenance and services that helps customers optimize the total cost of ownership of Cat equipment.
