The Cat® Next Generation 350 Excavator offers contractors what they want and need—legendary reliability with class-leading efficiency and productivity.
“We’ve built our reputation on producing high quality, reliable products that enable our customers to be more successful,” said Brian Abbott, worldwide product manager for Caterpillar large excavators. “We believe the new 350 is at the top of its class for efficiency and productivity.”
Legendary reliability
Caterpillar’s time-proven engineering and manufacturing know-how are second to none.
Class-leading efficiency
Caterpillar defines fuel efficiency as work per unit of fuel, and the 350 will do more work per unit than our class-leading 45 tonner.
The new Smart Mode system automatically matches engine and hydraulic power to digging conditions, reducing fuel consumption and optimizing performance. Engine speed automatically lowers when hydraulic demand decreases, further reducing fuel usage.
The cooling system features a new on-demand fan that’s designed to operate only when required, saving fuel and ensuring maximum efficiency. An available reverse function assists with cleaning debris from the cooling cores — another plus for enhanced efficiency.
The new electrohydraulic control system is built for responsiveness and efficiency. The system features a main control valve that eliminates the need for pilot lines and pilot filters. Fewer hydraulic lines mean fewer connecting points and less risk of leaks, contributing to lowering long-term owning and operating costs.
More production
Excavators in this size class are expected to move tons of material every day, and the 350 is simply a stand-out performer compared to other models and other brands.
“This excavator is built to deliver high digging force and swing torque,” said Abbott. “This enables contractors to work with bigger buckets.”
When coupled with a Cat Severe Duty 3.2 m3 bucket, the 350 can move up to 15% more material than the Cat 45 tonner.
Robust structures enable the 350 to work with larger hammers.
“If breaking big rocks is the goal, the 350 can carry up to a class-leading 200 mm size hammer,” added Abbott.
Added benefits
Cat Product Link™ provides a constant stream of wireless information available via the online VisionLink® interface, allowing machine managers in the office to quickly evaluate critical operating information.
Extended and synchronized maintenance intervals contribute to the 350’s low owning and operating costs.
Operator-inspired cab
The 350 cab is designed to provide operators with a safe and satisfying experience. Performance-enhancing features like keyless pushbutton start and touchscreen monitor come standard.
Following are other cab amenities that are sure to please operators:
“We are excited about the 350,” concluded Abbott. “When contractors put one to work, they are getting more than legendary reliability with class-leading efficiency and productivity—they are also getting unequalled support from our Cat dealer network with years of experience and know-how. It is a winning combination that can’t be beat.”
