Sabey Corporation developed Intergate.Manhattan into what is now the tallest data center in the world. Located in New York City, the facility presents a unique set of challenges including security, preservation and power loss. Sabey relies on its partnership with the local Cat® dealer, H.O. Penn, for emergency backup system support and critical data management.
When Scott Data Center required a reliable standby electric power system for an additional 30,000-square-foot power plant, they worked with their local Cat® dealer to install 20 MW of cat power controlled by a customized switchgear system. “Since its installation in 2012, we have had zero problems—it has worked flawlessly.”
Learn MoreIn designing its data center, the company sought to create an environmentally friendly facility with a low- to zero-carbon footprint supported by cutting-edge green technologies. For example, instead of cooling the data center with traditional, energy-intensive air conditioning systems, the facility is cooled using evaporative cooling technology. This step alone results in a 50 percent electricity savings when compared to traditional data centers. As with any data center, Global Relay also needed a robust, reliable backup power system, but one that was as ecologically friendly as possible.
