The Product Area of Surface Drilling at Sandvik Construction has selected Caterpillar as one of its preferred suppliers at EU Stage IV, U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final citing the company's innovative and durable diesel engine range and its worldwide dealer network among the key reasons behind its decision.
Through the collaborative partnership Sandvik Construction will utilize a range of Cat® industrial engines which span 37 - 433 bkW (50 - 580 bhp) to provide a dependable power source for crushers, screeners and rock drills.
Caterpillar's expertise in producing innovative power solutions which deliver optimum customer value and meet customer needs for durable and dependable engines that continually deliver, is another important consideration for Sandvik Construction when selecting a EU Stage IV, U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final engine supplier.
"Durability and productivity are key considerations for our customers," said András Huszta, Global Sourcing Manager at Sandvik Construction, "who are using our machines in harsh construction environments; while our mining equipment has to constantly operate in dusty and often dirty conditions. Given these factors, a proven, reliable and efficient engine that can work in these environments are essential considerations for us, when selecting a power provider.
"Cat's EU Stage IV, U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final engines meet these requirements and more. Our decision to select Caterpillar as one of our preferred suppliers at EU Stage IV, U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final ensures we have access to a wide range of power solutions which are supported by Caterpillar's extensive dealer network, providing a global service that is required by our customers."
A comprehensive line-up of six Cat engine models, from the C7.1 ACERT™ through to the C15 ACERT can deliver the power for Sandvik Construction's current range of rock drills, which include surface down-to-hole drill rigs and surface tophammer drill rigs. Proven to work in the harsh construction and mining industries, Caterpillar's robust engines are an ideal solution for Sandvik Construction.
The Sandvik rock drill division is being fully supported throughout the sales and installation process by Cat dealer Wihuri based in Helsinki, Finland, who as with all Cat dealers are fully trained, experienced, equipped and ready to support Cat engines with consistent standards and processes anywhere in the world.
Cat industrial engines benefit from and are serviced by the most extensive dealer network in the world; another key requirement for Sandvik Construction and its customers.
Sandvik Construction's large range of mobile crushers and screeners are being supported throughout the sales and installation process by the Cat dealer Finning based in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Six models from the Cat C4.4 ACERT through to the C13 ACERT, which continue the legacy of durability, reliability, low cost of ownership and fuel efficiency, can support the current range of powerful machines from Sandvik.
The new engines build on Caterpillar's advanced, world-class technology and feature a range of options that meet the customer's requirements in the most demanding applications.
Caterpillar is utilizing a range of emissions-technology solutions to meet EU Stage IV, U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final emission standards. These technologies have been specifically tailored and applied to provide maximum value for customers, while meeting the stringent emission requirements mandated by law.
"This announcement is a great example of a global collaborative partnership in action. Here we have a committed team from Sandvik Construction, the expertise of our Cat dealers Wihuri in Finland and Finning UK and our account and global engineering team, all working together to ensure we have the right products at the right time to support our customers' growth ambitions; backed by our global dealer network," said Adam Lucia, Sandvik global account manager at Caterpillar.
"The comprehensive line-up of EU Stage IV, U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final engines, not only meet the required emission standards, but do so while delivering real benefits to the customer in terms of reliability, fuel efficiency, great power and torque," stated Lucia.
