Caterpillar Global Petroleum to Showcase Dual Fuel, Natural Gas Offerings at 2013 HHP Summit

Caterpillar Reaffirms Commitment to Delivering Natural Gas Products

Houston, TX – Caterpillar Global Petroleum will highlight its extensive solutions for the oil and gas industry at the Caterpillar-sponsored the Higher Horsepower Summit, September 17th – 19th in Chicago, Illinois. This will mark the second year Caterpillar Inc. has served as a gold sponsor of HHP, which held its highly successful inaugural event in 2012. As a committed industry leader in the design and manufacturing of natural gas engines, Caterpillar Oil and Gas will feature two keynote industry speakers on the HHP agenda, discussing the company’s dual fuel technology for drilling, production and well stimulation applications and natural gas products.

Oil and gas solutions that will be showcased at the 2013 HHP Summit include:

  • The Dynamic Gas Blending (DGB) retrofit kit for use on the Cat® 3512C (HD) engine used in well stimulation applications. Introduced in 2013, the DGB system for well stimulation will allow for maximum substitution of diesel fuel with natural gas during high pressure pumping operations, and is available in both Air To Air After Cooled (ATAAC) and Separate Circuit After Cooled (SCAC) configurations for 2250 hp and 2500 hp @ 1900 rpm ratings. The DGB kit for well stimulation applications is now available for global customers to order through the Cat dealer network.
  • The comprehensive line of Cat natural gas generator sets for land and offshore drilling and production. Ranging from 135 eKW to 6520 eKW, Caterpillar offers a genset for diverse applications of any size. Featured at the HHP Summit will be the recently-introduced G3516C, a 1,555 eKW genset for land drilling as well as the G3306B TA, a 135 eKW genset for land production.
  • Customer success stories featuring the DGB kit for land drilling and production. The DGB kit for land drilling and production was successfully introduced to the market in May 2012. Now being utilized at customer sites around the globe, Caterpillar Oil and Gas is pleased to share the significant savings and benefits the innovative dual fuel kit is delivering customers, including DeSoto Drilling and EQT.
