For Worldwide Release: September 2020
DEERFIELD, IL –Caterpillar Inc. today announced that Stowers Machinery, the local Cat® dealer, has supplied a 300 kW Cat D300 GC diesel generator set for the jail at the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office in Crossville, Tenn.
Commissioned in June, the new generator set provides backup power for the medium security detention center, which includes capacity for 212 inmates, electronic monitoring and control systems, and administrative offices. County officials selected the power solution from Caterpillar as it fits within the footprint of the previous generator set, utilizes diesel fuel tanks already installed at the facility, and meets state-mandated requirements within the allotted budget.
Stowers Machinery supplied a mobile generator set while the new system was installed, and the dealer will provide ongoing support for the system through a customer value agreement (CVA).
“The Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office depends on reliable power for the safety of its inmates and staff,” said Jason Kaiser, general manager for Caterpillar Retail Electric Power Solutions. “The Cat GC generator set for the Cumberland County Sheriff’s Office demonstrates how we can deliver the performance our customers need in a right-sized package that minimizes purchasing and installation costs.”
Exceptional Customer Value from Cat® GC Diesel Generator Sets
Cat GC diesel generator sets are configured with an optimized mix of common features that offer excellent customer value by delivering performance with a minimal footprint.
Eight GC models were launched at the end of 2019 with standby power ratings from 250 kW to 600 kW. They are engineered to Caterpillar’s high standards for reliability and productivity, with best-in-class support from the Cat dealer network.
Available now in North America for applications in 60 Hz operating environments, Cat GC generator sets include the customary two-year warranty for standby power solutions from Caterpillar, with a suite of additional extended service coverage options available. Caterpillar supplies matching enclosures for applications requiring noise attenuation or protection from the elements.
The generator sets can be equipped with Cat Connect Remote Asset Monitoring, which provides data visualization, reporting, and alerts that are accessible from anywhere in the world through an easy-to-use web interface.
Caterpillar delivers innovative power systems engineered for durability, reliability and value. The company offers worldwide product support, with parts and service available globally through the Cat authorized service and dealer network. In addition, dealer technicians are trained to service every aspect of Cat equipment.
