The new Cat® 963K offers legendary track loader versatility, along with a 10-25 percent gain in fuel efficiency and improved performance. The new crawler loader also offers updated cab and safety features for the comfort and convenience of the operator.
More Efficiency and Productivity = Lower Costs
The 963K is powered Cat C7.1 ACERT™ engine with a net power of 144 kW (193 hp). An Eco Mode automatically reduces engine speed, but maintains selected ground speed when the machine is under light load. The more efficient engine and the Eco Mode combine to deliver a 10 – 25 percent reduction in fuel consumption compared to the 963D. The updated loader meets China Nonroad Stage III emissions standards, equivalent to U.S. EPA Tier 3/EU Stage IIIA.
The 963K offers additional productivity with an optional Performance Series bucket that moves 5 percent more material per hour compared to the standard bucket. For added versatility, the machine can be ordered with an optional quick coupler to allow easy use of forks, buckets, etc. from wheel loaders and other machines.
Purpose-built Waste Handling configurations are factory equipped with specialized guarding and air handling features for added durability in landfill and/or transfer station work.
The 963K also offers an optimal combination of traction, high reach and maneuverability that is ideal for Ship Hold and Port Handling applications. The loader can be ordered with factory seals and guarding, as well as widely spaced lifting points. Specialized implements like trim blades offer efficient sweeping of ship hold walls and specialized buckets help you handle a variety of materials.
Performance Enhancements
The C7.1 ACERT engine provides fast machine response under load. Smarter power train management offers smoother implement and steering response, and improved steering performance over the previous model. Power reaches the ground more efficiently, giving you fast acceleration and shorter cycle times. Features like load sensing hydraulics and position sensing cylinders add to the machine’s precision and response.
Ease of Operation
The updated cab offers operator comforts like suspension seat with adjustable armrests and controls, and an improved air conditioning system. Engine noise is reduced compared to the 963D, resulting in a quieter environment for the operator and for others around the worksite.
The machine can be ordered with either v-lever/foot pedal or simple joystick speed and steering control. Selectable electro-hydraulic mapping lets you set implement response to fine, normal or coarse to match operator preferences and tailor the machine to individual applications. Operator safety is enhanced as well, with added handles and steps to help operators climb on and off the machine more easily, from the front or the back of the tracks.
The 963K maintains its reputation for ease of service too, with a tilt cab and convenient service access points for easier maintenance and repair. The demand fan provides efficient cooling, plus features a swing-out grill door and fold-down fan to help make cleanout quick and easy.
The Caterpillar telematics system, Product Link™ is deeply integrated into the 963K, giving you easy access to timely performance and health information like machine location, hours, fuel usage, idle time and event/fault codes via the online VisionLink® user interface.
