Caterpillar Introduces Stainless Steel Well Stimulation Pump Fluid Ends for Oil and Gas Industry

Houston, Texas – Caterpillar Global Petroleum announces the addition of stainless steel fluid ends to the Cat® XD line of well stimulation pumps and fluid ends.  These fluid ends, compatible with all Cat XD Series components, will be available for order in the first quarter of 2014.

“Stainless steel offers Caterpillar customers numerous benefits, including improved corrosion resistance, reduced incidents of cracking due to corrosion, and improved overall durability,” said Scott Roberts, Caterpillar Global Petroleum well service product marketing manager.  “That all adds up to reduced maintenance intervals and lower owning and operating costs, exactly what customers count on us to provide.”

Since first offering well stimulation pumps and fluid ends in early 2013, Caterpillar has made significant inroads with its Cat XD product line.  Customers cite Caterpillar’s product reliability and the committed support of its worldwide dealer network as keys to their businesses’ success.

“Cat XD Fluid Ends have been a significant factor in our ability to establish a competitive advantage in our market.  On a consistent basis, they have significantly outperformed other pump providers’ premium line of fluid ends for our applications.  Caterpillar’s customer service and support have been first class,” said Jeff McPherson, Vice President of Operations for U.S. Well Services, a Houston, Texas-based oilfield services provider.  “The products and services provided by Caterpillar and the Cat Dealer Network have supported our efforts to provide our customers with a more reliable pumping solution.  We have great demand for a premium, long-life fluid end, and we are convinced that the Cat well stimulation pumps are, and will continue to be, the leader in this field.”

Stainless steel fluid ends, along with the entire Cat XD well stimulation product line, further enable Caterpillar customers’ success. Through focused training, dedicated application resources, world class product support, and a highly skilled dealer network, Caterpillar is fully equipped to partner with customers to meet their most challenging well stimulation requirements.
