Cat® Utility Hydraulic Thumbs are compatible with a wide range of hydraulic excavator configurations and are a smart choice for use in fleets with a mix of machines and various bucket and coupler combinations. The design is well suited for light and medium-duty material handling tasks such as handling brush, rocks and construction debris. Controlled and positioned from inside the cab, Cat Utility Hydraulic Thumbs expand the versatility of hydraulic excavators in size classes equivalent to the Cat 311 through 329.
Cat Utility Hydraulic Thumbs mount to the face of the excavator stick, which enables them to work with Caterpillar and other manufacturers' excavators, buckets and couplers. The new thumbs are narrow in width for good visibility, and they are engineered for low weight so that excavators can maintain their loading and lifting performance capabilities. Each utility thumb is easy to stow against the stick and out of the way when not in use.
