From buckets to box rakes, check out the top 5 landscaping attachments that will help you get more done on the job.
John Janes | Landscaping Marketing Manager
One of the best ways to get more out of your landscaping equipment is through attachments. And no matter your application, there are plenty to choose from to help you get the job done. We narrowed it down to our top 5 landscaping attachments below.
5) Trencher
Trencher attachments for skid steer loaders are designed for cutting narrow, straight trenches in soil. When digging for irrigation systems, French drains and plumbing or even just edging landscaping, these attachments can be a big help on the job. They make it easy to cut through hard or soft soils and more efficiently do the work.
4) Auger
Auger attachments for mini excavators are a great tool for drilling holes for things like trees, shrubs and fencing, landing them a spot in our top 5 landscaping attachments. If you’re doing a lot of planting on the job, they can be a great investment to help you quickly and easily dig those holes.
These versatile attachments work with skid steer loaders for a quick way to prep seed beds and lawns. They let you easily remove old lawns and weeds, help you grade, rake, level and remove debris too, making them a great tool when the spring planting season starts. Their fine milling action helps you easily aerate lawns.
2) Pallet Forks
Pallet forks for skid steer loaders and compact wheel loaders take the hard labor out of the heavy lifting, which is why they are in our top 5 landscaping attachments. They can help you move things like bagged fertilizer and seed, large rocks if you are doing hardscaping, brush piles if you’re clearing debris and even moving fence posts. Their many uses make them a great addition to your fleet.
Not the most glamorous or exciting, but definitely the most versatile! Buckets for your skid steer loader are some of the most useful tools in your arsenal, and there are plenty of different options if you want to upgrade beyond your standard bucket. They do a lot of work on your job sites, so having the right bucket is key to making sure you meet the demands of your applications.
Something to keep in mind with this list is that the attachments that will work best for you and be worth the investment really depend on what applications you’re doing the most. If you’re not sure where to start, go with more generalized attachments that work on many different applications. You can reassess your needs down the line to see whether it makes sense to start adding in more specialized attachments. Your local Cat® dealer is a great resource to help you address your pain points on the job site and come up with a plan to get you the equipment you need.
