How long have you been in the trucking industry?
I’ve been driving a truck for 24 years — the first seven years as a company driver and the following 17 years as an owner-operator, thanks to my trusty Peterbilt powered by the incomparable Cat C-15 engine.
What made you decide to become a truck driver?
I grew up in the Soviet Union and at the age of 10 decided that I will be a truck driver. Adults thought that it was just an empty dream, but five years later I was blessed to come to America with my parents, and eight years afterwards I began driving a semi.
If you could describe being a female in the trucking industry with one word, what would it be?
Empowered! The responsibilities of safely transporting various products used daily by millions of people in their personal and professional lives make all the hardships of the job worthwhile.

What do you enjoy most about trucking?
Travel, meeting new people and learning new professional and life lessons daily.
What’s the most challenging part of your job?
Trying to make on-time pick-up and delivery despite all the constrictions imposed by weather and road construction delays and the electronic logbook.
What keeps you truckin'?
Travel wanderlust! Also, I enjoy supporting my family by earning an honest, honorable living by doing a very challenging job in a fast-paced work environment.
