The newest Cat® hammers and shears, highlighted at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017, are enhancing the productivity and utility of Cat excavators and providing solutions for a variety of job applications.
The Cat H120E Hammer is built for superior breaking performance, day after day. But the hammer was also designed with safety in mind. “The hammer has an enclosed, reversible housing, which adds versatility and durability to it,” says Caterpillar Product Expert Tom Munch. “But internally to that, our silencing components lower dBA, bringing the overall dBA level of the job site. At Caterpillar, we say a quieter job site is going to be a safer job site.”
Because we know our customers have different requirements, the new Cat B Series hydraulic hammers offer another solution for severe applications such as quarry, road construction, demolition and general construction.
The new Cat S3070 Shear cuts efficiently, and with full rotation gives operators total control to cut more while moving the machine less. “We’re seeing better blade life, too, in the range of anywhere from 400-1200 hours, based on the quality of operator that you,” says Caterpillar Product Expert Paul Fabrizius.
And the Cat shear is designed to make maintenance easier than ever. Cutting blades and the piercing tip are all independently replaceable using hand tools.
Paul Fabrizius says only Caterpillar gives you a scrap-handling system with the shear, excavator and hydraulics designed to work together to cut more and cut faster.
“The integration between the machine and tool and evaluating the hydraulics against the two is absolutely critical for you to be productive on your job site.”
The Cat S3070 is one of three models Caterpillar is launching in 2017.
