Cat® TH514D Telehandler with Improved Performance, All-Day Comfort Featured at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017

Designed for your most demanding job site applications, the new Cat® TH514D Telehandler features a comfortable, protected operator station with improved visibility and easy-to-use controls. Caterpillar Product Expert Mike Peterson gave us a detailed summary of the telehandler’s features at CONEXPO-CON/AGG 2017.

“We’re really excited about this TH514D Telehandler. It’s a brand-new model for the D Series lineup, lifts 11,000 pounds, lift height of 45 feet, improved lift performance, integrated technology and all-day comfort.  With our maximum lift height, we’re further in front of our telehandler now, so our operator – while working in the cab, with the boom up and trying to place a load – has better visibility to that load when they’re landing it.”

All-Day Comfort Operator Station

“What we’ve tried to do is increase the size of our cab. We have optional heated air-suspension seats, ergonomic display with all of our lights and switches, and optional advanced multi-function display. The long wheel base on our cab actually makes the ride on our telehandler nice and comfortable as well while maintaining tight turning radius.”

Versatility

“We’ve added over 20 new attachments in addition to the variety that we previously offered. It was a versatile machine before. We’re just making it more versatile, making sure it’s the first on the job site and the last to leave.”

“The rear-view camera has a full-color display with indicators on that display within the cab telling us how far objects are from the machine, removing blind spots. We also have reverse object sensor, a field of 15 feet by 14 feet. It starts off when the object’s far away at 1 Hz (or one beep per second), but much like our cars, the closer you get to the object, it’s about 8 Hz (or 8 beeps per second), indicating that you’re very close to an object. You also have the option of Cat® Product Link™ to monitor diagnostics, the location and hours on the machine, so our customers know how the machine is operating.”
