TORC Series Relies on Cat® Machines to Build Dirt Race Tracks

The Off-Road Championship (TORC) series has begun its 2014 season, and Cat® equipment plays a key role in developing and maintaining the race tracks.

This series features the world’s top short-course racers representing all three professional truck racing classes. Starting this year, Cat products, including Compact Track Loaders, Wheel Loaders, Telehandlers, Small Track-Type Tractors and Motor Graders, will build and maintain the race tracks for each event. Cat dealers and the Cat Rental Store will provide equipment and service at each location. In addition, NBC Sports and TORC will utilize Cat Entertainment Services for their Television trucks and broadcasts at each race.

A Cat branded truck will compete in the race each week as well. Steve Barlow, a racing veteran sponsored by Caterpillar, will compete in the professional 2 wheel drive division each week.

Caterpillar will also provide automation and its AccuGrade™ Grade Control System to help reduce costs and increase machine efficiency for development of a brand new race track in Sturgis, S.D. for Battle at the Chip on August 5/6 during Sturgis Bike Rally week.
