Introducing the Cat SW360 Wheel Saw
Have you ever been cutting a trench in asphalt or concrete with a regular old walk-behind or circular saw and thought there has to be a better way. There is, and that way is the SW360 Wheel Saw for the Cat 299D3 XE Compact Track Loader.
Whether you’re patch cutting a road, putting in expansion joints or removing concrete to place utilities, it’s tough, dirty and tiring work. But, cutting a trench in asphalt and concrete from the cab of a Cat compact track loader with the SW360 Wheel Saw reduces fatigue and labor while increasing safety and productivity.
Once you hop in the cab of your Cat compact track loader, you’ll understand the difference in noise and vibration dampening that a sealed cab and air conditioning make. Much of the fatigue and stress of cutting through pavement comes from the vibration and noise distracting the saw’s operator, not to mention the physical strength needed to wrangle a disk spinning at thousands of rpm for hours on end. Instead, the weight of the CTL absorbs much of the vibration and provides a calm environment for the operator to focus on the job. The operator also has a durable layer of class between them and any debris kicked up by the saw.
The Cat SW360 further helps reduce stress and increase productivity. Instead of combustion or electricity, it’s actuated by your Cat compact wheel loader’s hydraulics, providing massive amounts of torque and high rpms to get the work done quickly and precisely—cutting through concrete or asphalt alike. The wheel saw has side-shift capabilities to reduce the need for machine repositioning, making it easier to work alongside walls or busy streets.
Keeping Your Cat SW360 Wheel Saw Maintained
Just like your Cat compact wheel loader, all attachments—including the SW360—need routine maintenance to keep performing like new. Here are a few quick tips:
- Check hydraulic cylinders for wear and oil streaks
- Check hoses for bubbling or cracking
- Check saw teeth and blade for abnormal wear
- Make sure hydraulic linkages couple and decouple smoothly
- Follow recommended lubrication intervals
