The Cat AD45 Articulated Truck: A Machine for Modern Mining
How the AD45 helps China’s ZiJin Mining keep their edge.
ZiJin Mining is China's largest copper and gold mining company and the 7th largest mining company worldwide. Their Serbian mine, The Bor Copper Complex is one of the most profitable mines in the region, comprising of four active mines and a recently reconstructed copper smelter.

Their latest purchase for the Bor Copper Complex includes seven brand new Cat AD45 Underground Mining Trucks. These new generation diesel machines will make a significant difference as they deliver improved productivity.
ZiJin purchased the new underground mining trucks from Teknoxgroup Serbia with whom they have built a successful partnership based on trust and exceptional service.
As good as gold: Cat AD45 Underground Trucks
The success of the Bor Copper Complex is not just about the best equipment, it is also about the investment in people through training. ZiJin has just received its first Cat AD45 on site, along with a visit from expert Caterpillar instructor Jason Gutman. "I teach the operators how to make the most out of the machine. Safety also plays a big role in the training program. What I love most about my job is giving the operators guidance and tools that will immediately help their day-to-day jobs.”
Meng Xiao says the AD45 is already proving its value at the mine. "This is a fantastic truck. It’s very stable and more comfortable to operate. Having one machine already operational allows us to assess its performance and determine any necessary customizations for the remaining six machines that are on order."
Cat dealer Teknoxgroup Serbia knows how important productivity is for ZiJin. It’s why they’ve proactively found ways to reduce equipment downtime and ensure quick service. “With the machines operating 24/7, support, servicing, and spare part availability play a significant role in the mine’s success. We found the best approach to help ZiJin Mining was to create a spare parts warehouse in the local neighbourhoods, thus minimising any delay in getting the machines up and running,” said Aleksandar Joksimović, Key Account Mining Specialist at Teknoxgroup Serbia.
