A BLAST OF FRESH AIR

Sullivan-Palatek D900HAF

Sullivan-Palatek is the only compressor manufacturer owned and operated in North America offering the industry’s widest range of portable, rotary-screw air compressors. The new D900HAF compressor is the latest model in the company’s Cat® powered lineup, and its design is a direct response to end-user input. Blasting, drilling and demolition contractors had requested a high-powered yet compact and relatively lightweight compressor. More specifically, they wanted one light enough to be loaded on a truck with lifting equipment they already had on hand. The portable D900HAF checks all those boxes.

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

  • The D900HAF features the Sullivan-Palatek Electronic Control System, which allows users to dial in the exact pressure they need for precise, fuel-efficient operation. The compressor can be used to operate jackhammers, air sanders, air-impact wrenches, grinders and other air-powered tools that are essential for blasting, drilling and construction projects.
  • Large access doors make the D900HAF service friendly, and its rugged galvanneal enclosure is designed to withstand harsh environments.
  • The D900HAF is powered by a Cat® C7.1, 300 hp, U.S. Tier 4 Final/EU Stage V engine with high power density. The C7.1 was specified as the optimal choice for the new compressor, because Caterpillar designed the engine to be more compact and 40% lighter in weight than 9-liter platforms. That means contractors can easily load the D900HAF on a truck without having to rent a high-capacity crane or forklift. Less weight also means greater fuel efficiency during transport. With the D900HAF, contractors can gear up and go more quickly and more affordably.
  • Meeting the challenge of new product development head on, Sullivan-Palatek worked closely with their Cat dealer through the pocess. This involved assessing the group’s technical needs, specifying a customized power solution, synchronizing the engine with the Sullivan-Palatek electronic control system, creating a 3D engine model to confirm a proper fit and completing an installation audit to ensure the compressor would meet customer expectations.
  • Engine meets the latest US EPA Tier 4 Final and EU Stage V emissions requirements.
  • The global Cat dealer network provides added value for customers by supplying accessible, unparalleled parts and service including 24/7 online parts ordering access.

PRECISE POWER THAT PERFORMS

Sullivan-Palatek is the only compressor manufacturer owned and operated in North America. The company is celebrating 36 years of business in 2020 and is committed to leading the compressed-air industry with continuous product innovation and first-class customer service.

Sullivan-Palatek also offers the industry’s widest range of portable, rotary-screw air compressors and is intent on introducing more Cat powered models in addition to ones it already offers in the 750-1800 CFM range. “Our customers tell us they like Cat powered products, because Cat engines are reliable,” says Austin Wilkins, Portable Division Sales Manager of Sullivan-Palatek, “and Cat engines can be serviced anywhere to ensure optimum uptime.”

The new D900HAF compressor is the latest model in the company’s Cat powered lineup, and its design is a direct response to end-user input. Blasting, drilling and demolition contractors had requested a high-powered yet compact and relatively lightweight compressor. More specifically, they wanted one light enough to be loaded on a truck with lifting equipment they already had on hand. The portable D900HAF checks all those boxes.

The D900HAF is powered by a Cat® C7.1, 300 hp, U.S. Tier 4 Final/EU Stage V engine with high power density. The C7.1 was specified as the optimal choice for the new compressor, because Caterpillar designed this particular engine to be more compact and 40% lighter in weight than 9-liter platforms. That means contractors can easily load the D900HAF on a truck without having to rent a high-capacity crane or forklift. Less weight also means greater fuel efficiency during transport. With the D900HAF, contractors can gear up and go more quickly and more affordably.

The D900HAF also features the Sullivan-Palatek Electronic Control System, which allows users to dial in the exact pressure they need for precise, fuel-efficient operation. The compressor can be used to operate jackhammers, air sanders, air-impact wrenches, grinders and other air-powered tools that are essential for blasting, drilling and construction projects. Large access doors make the D900HAF service friendly, and its rugged galvanneal enclosure is designed to withstand harsh environments.

BETTER TOGETHER

When Sullivan-Palatek first created the concept for the D900HAF compressor, the company turned to Cat dealer Michigan Cat for assistance in making the new product production-ready.

Meeting the challenge head on, Michigan Cat worked closely with the Sullivan- Palatek engineering group through the product-development process. This involved assessing the group’s technical needs, specifying a customized power solution, synchronizing the engine with the Sullivan-Palatek electronic control system, creating a 3D engine model to confirm a proper fit and completing an installation audit to ensure the compressor would meet customer expectations.

All of these steps led to completion of the final product, which already is attracting a lot of interest from contractors who can benefit from it. Wilkins predicts that the D900HAF compressor will be purchased or rented by a wide range of customers in the blasting, drilling and demolition industries. “We have a very large base of customers who prefer Cat engines,” he says. “Our D900HAF compressor with the Cat C7.1 provides the power and flexibility they need for their air-powered equipment.”

“CAT ENGINES CAN BE SERVICED ANYWHERE TO ENSURE OPTIMUM UPTIME.”
