OPTIMIZATION OF FUEL CONSUMPTION FOR M 32 C ENGINES

MAK™ PARTS, REPAIR OPTIONS AND KITS

Fuel Optimization

For turbocharged medium-speed four-stroke engines the interaction of engine speed and turbocharger plays a critical role. In the part load range the problem is that the air ratio is often not sufficient, and combustion becomes incomplete. Therefore, we are offering a conversion with a part load optimized turbocharger and are thus increasing the charging pressure in the part load range. Fuel consumption in the load range below 70 % load will be significantly reduced. Because of the decrease in fuel consumption also CO2 emissions will be reduced.

This system is available for in-line M 32 C engines equipped with Napier turbocharger.

Benefits

- Lower fuel consumption at part load, resulting in reduced OPEX

- Conversion to IMO II which significantly decreases

        - NOₓ emissions

        - CO₂ emissions

- Third party benefits

        - Lower harbor fees and port due

        - Government aid or subsidies
