Hydraulic Optimization
Conventional hydraulic systems operate all pumps at the maximum required cylinder flow and pressure, regardless of the demand from individual circuits. Our next generation shovels take a different approach, dynamically assigning individual pumps or groups of pumps to deliver the exact flow and pressure that each hydraulic function requires. Called Hydraulic Optimization, this approach saves fuel and makes machines up to 15% more efficient than shovels without it.

Optimized Cooling
The Independent Oil Cooling system is a more efficient means of cooling that protects and extends the life of hydraulic components. The system is independent of return oil, achieving efficiency through the utilization of dedicated pumps that provide cooling capacity as needed, whether the engine is idling or under load. That means optimum oil temperature is being maintained, even while your operator waits for the next truck to load. Competitive hydraulic shovels provide cooling only when the machine is working, and the engine is under load. Additional efficiency is achieved via our thermostatically controlled radiator fan speed.

Key to connectivity is an improved Cat Product Link Elite (PLE) system, which boosts connectivity and increases the availability of data. Product Link Elite enables your shovel to collect and transmit information into locally hosted or cloud-hosted applications, such as Cat MineStar Health Office, Health Equipment Insights and Equipment Care Advisor.
All Cat Hydraulic Mining Shovels leave the factory with PLE installed, but conversion kits are available for older models already in the field. This onboard technology opens the door for industry-leading equipment health and condition monitoring services from Caterpillar and your local Cat dealer. Product Link Elite delivers accurate, timely and useful information about the location, utilization, and condition of your equipment — the kind of information that can make a huge difference in the efficiency and costs of your entire operation.

Designed by operators for operators, this state-of-the-art cab has everything operators need to keep operators safe, comfortable, and in control.
Designed for safety, this cab delivers 40% more visibility than the previous cab, with larger front and side windows and new in-floor glass window, so operators can see around the sides, to the back and straight down to the ground.
Designed for comfort, this cab is the most comfortable and quiet in the industry. Operators enjoy a spacious environment with patented 3-seat design and superior insulation that reduces noise and temperature. The cab features a new air conditioning system, Cat Next Gen heated and cooled comfort seat, elevated full-size trainer seat and laptop desk and fold-away auxiliary seat.
Designed for control, operators experience improved operator interface with high-definition color touchscreens, and greater controllability with ergonomic joystick controls and five circuit hydraulics that allow for two-cylinder motions, two travel motions, and swing to be controlled simultaneously.
