Applied Failure Analysis - AFA II

COURSE DESCRIPTION

AFA II and III have been combined into a single week of training. This course begins with a review of basic principles covered in AFA I. Then students apply those principles to gears, anti-friction bearings, hydraulic pumps & motors, lubrication, welds, and shafts. Communicating a failure analysis is more strongly emphasized by including a section on taking good digital pictures. The week wraps up with case studies from the field.

LEARNING OUTCOMES

AFA II: Review Principles of Management, Review of Fractures, Review of Wear, then apply them to Lubrication, Gears, Anti-friction Bearings, Hydraulic Pumps & Motors, Shafts, Welds, and Case Studies.
