COURSE DESCRIPTION
The G3500 Operations & Maintenance course empowers the learner to properly operate and perform key preventive maintenance tasks as per Caterpillar® recommendation. The goal is for the learner to know when to call for help, where to find/get answers, and how to provide adequate information on systems issues or malfunctions. At the Miami Lakes Learning Center, the focus will be on the following gas compression engine models: G3500A, G3500B, G3500J, and G3500TA.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
After completion of this course, the learner will be able to :
- Perform 1,000/2,000 & 4,000hrs Preventive Maintenance (PMs) (valve lash, ignition transformer, spark plug, valve stem, blowby)
- Determine maintenance schedules and corrective actions based on S.O.S fluids analysis
- Collect critical engine performance data and determine corrective action
- Take immediate action if detonation and/or misfire is present
- Use vibration tool to take vibration readings and compare to specs.
