Gaseous Fuel Impact on Engine Performance
Course No.42144
COURSE DESCRIPTION
This module is designed for the learner to: acquire the general working knowledge of gaseous fuel and its impact on engine performance, develop the required skills needed in interpreting gas chromatography and determining site rating limitations, and positively change its behavior in valuing the importance of the fuel Methane Number, Low Heat Value, and A&I Guides when working with Cat® gas engines.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Upon completion of the course, the learner is expected to: - Recognize the benefits and opportunities low-energy fuels provide. - Assimilate how gas properties and characteristics impact engine performance. - Interpret a gas chromatography. - Evaluate how much the engine power is impacted by air and fuel flow restrictions. - Ensure the engine is set-up and operated within its limits to avoid the risk of detonation.
