Cat® Ladies 2021
Behind the Scenes Part 2

The Professionals Behind the Intense Competition

After the tournament is over, preparations for next year's tournament begin the next day.

Tomomi Sakiyama, Chief Manager, says, "In order to have the best green conditions for the next tournament, it is important to maintain a good growing environment throughout the year while paying attention to the health of the grass. "Turf is a very sensitive plant," says Tomomi Sakiyama, chief manager of the company.

Lawns are easily affected by external conditions such as temperature, humidity, and weather," says Tomomi Sakiyama, Chief Manager. We use past management data to make decisions, but at the end of the day, we rely on our long-standing intuition.

Chief Manager Sasaki says that he always checks the weather forecast frequently during important maintenance work, and he also checks the progress of the season by listening carefully to the sounds of birds and insects, the changing colors of leaves on trees, and other natural changes with his five senses.

After more than 30 years of course management, I finally have some control over the turf," he says. I am blessed to have a highly skilled team, and no matter what time of year it is, I am confident that we can bring the greens to peak condition in time for the tournament.

To raise the level of tournaments in Japan, we must first bring the course up to world-class standards. I believe that Daihakone Country Club is a course with great potential. Our team will continue to work together to create a course that all golfers, from amateurs to top professionals, can enjoy playing.

From November through next spring, Daihakone Country Club will be undergoing renovation work, including grass species changes.

What kind of a limelight will Chief Manager Sakiyama and the course management team create for next year's CAT Ladies?
