For Worldwide Release: July 1, 2019
Release Number: EEPR0919
Deerfield, IL – Caterpillar Inc. today announced the expansion of the Cat® Rental Power product line with the introduction of the XQP1100, a 50/60 Hz switchable rental generator set. This new generator set also offers class-leading Brake Specific Fuel Consumption (BSFC) for reduced environmental impact.
Rated for 50/60 Hz prime operation at 1100 kVA, the XQP1100 expands the current XQP rental product range above 500kVA. By packaging 1100 kVA in a 20-foot ISO transportable container, the power density offering is increased and paralleling controls with an Electrically Operated (EO) breaker are featured as standard equipment. The XQP1100 is a fully self-contained unit capable of running eight hours without refueling.
Equipped with the Cat Connect platform, the Cat XQP1100 rental generator set combines equipment, technology and services to build customer success. Cat Connect allows dealers and customers to remotely monitor generator set performance, status and alarms through an easy-to-use interface. Cat Connect data, such as run hours and fuel consumption, can be utilized to improve fleet management, and better manage maintenance intervals to help control costs, improve performance and reduce risk.
“This range of products is designed to meet the needs of the modern rental market, such as switchable configurations and the integration of Cat Connect technology to track and manage equipment assets,” says Joel Feucht, general manager of Large Electric Power at Caterpillar. “In the future, we look forward to introducing even more power nodes as part of our commitment to develop a complete portfolio of product.”
Each Cat XQP1100 features the EMCP 4.4 digital control panel for monitoring, control and protection. The EMCP 4.4 includes automatic paralleling controls simplifying operations at installations with multiple machines. It also includes Caterpillar’s proprietary Transient Load Response (TLR) software optimizing generator sizing for load acceptance. All XQP rental generators fitted with EMCP offer advanced capabilities such as Automatic Transfer Switch logic, programmable logic controller, electrical load tracking histogram and more.
With a robust, rental-ready construction, like all generator sets in the XQP product line, the XQP1100 is designed to be safely and efficiently transported around project sites. The heavy-duty fuel tank base with integrated fork lift pockets and ISO corner castings allows the unit to be lifted with ease. Control panel and customer connection access has been optimized for the demanding rental market with easy to access, robust copper connection bus work. The generator set can be connected and operated without the need to access the engine compartment, which is critical to operator comfort and safety.
All Cat XQP mobile generator sets are available through the Cat dealer network. Cat dealers are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week to assist with emergency rental needs. Caterpillar’s service network ensures access to prompt, quality repairs by trained technicians at Caterpillar authorized service locations.
