Fort Lauderdale, Florida – This year marks the 60th anniversary of the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (FLIBS), and Caterpillar Marine is proud to be an exhibitor at one of the largest boat shows in the world. Visitors are encouraged to stop by the Caterpillar exhibit, booth #1213, to view the featured marine products including the new Cat® Parallel Propulsion Solution, the C12.9, and C7.1.
“We are looking forward to working with many different builders to understand what the power of the future might look like in their newest boats,” said Caterpillar Marine Product Definition Manager, Mark Harrison. “One common theme is how to get the benefits of both diesel and electric power options to the propeller. At the show in Fort Lauderdale we will be exhibiting one of our solutions where we have optimized package size, technical flexibility, and ease of installation. We will be looking forward showcasing this solution and having discussions with designers, builders, and owners about this new power option from Caterpillar Marine.”
The C12.9 marine propulsion engine is ideal for high performance marine applications including yachts, fishing vessels, military and governmental vessels, and more. This electronically- controlled engine is available in two power ratings: 850 mhp at 2300 rpm and 1000 mhp at 2300 rpm. Both ratings meet EPA Tier 3, IMO II, EU Recreational Craft Directive and EU Stage IIIA regulations.
Product experts will be at the booth throughout the show to discuss the new parallel propulsion solution and the featured propulsion engines. Additionally, several boats featured at the show are powered by Cat engines. Visitors can tour the engine room of these vessels and experience our products in operation.
