For Worldwide Release: September 2019
Houston, Texas – Caterpillar Oil & Gas is pleased to announce recent sales of the new 3512E DGB™ well service engine to four industry service providers. Production for the new engine began in August. This game-changing engine is the first U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final dual fuel certified engine.
“The 3512E DGB helps our customers utilize natural gas as a primary fuel source. It does this at the lowest GHG footprint and while achieving 85% diesel displacement,” said Derek Kamp, Caterpillar Global Industry Manager for well service.
Built on the legendary 3512 engine platform, the 3512E DGB well service engine provides increased performance with 85% diesel displacement, factory-installed dual fuel solution, and overall lower owning and operating costs. The new engine is designed to supply customers with the industry’s latest technological advancements by keeping displacement high and emissions low. Additionally, the engine has the capability to operate on CNG, LNG, pipeline gas, and field gas. The 3512E DGB provides the widest fuel flexibility of 850 – 1250 LHV.
Unlike previous versions offering dual fuel operation, the 3512E DGB includes factory-installed solutions that emit approximately the same or less greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions as a comparable 3512E Tier 4 Final diesel engine.
