For Worldwide Release: October 2019
Houston, Texas – Caterpillar is proud to be named as the recipient of the Engine of the Year >175 hp award for the new 3512E Tier 4 Final with Dynamic Gas Blending. The company was bestowed the award at the inaugural Diesel Progress Awards which took place on September 30th, 2019.
“The Caterpillar team is proud to be recognized by Diesel Progress for the hard work and dedication that made this engine possible. It is exciting to launch a product that reduces both environmental impact and fuel costs for our Oil & Gas customers,” said Caterpillar Well Service Marketing Manager, Darin Bohlmann.
Marketed as an industry game-changer, the new 3512E DGB well service engine provides the industry’s best diesel displacement rate of 85%. Advantages such as this allow customers to significantly reduce operating costs without having to sacrifice on engine power and reliability. Additional benefits include the widest fuel flexibility (operable on CNG, LNG, pipeline gas and field gas), the greatest GHG reduction and technological advancements.
Judges for the award commented on the new engine saying, “There are lots of aftermarket systems that allow you to use gaseous fuel to offset your diesel fuel cost, but this is the first factory installed system with guaranteed results and emissions. And it cuts greenhouse gas emissions by burning otherwise wasted flare gases.”
Caterpillar is committed to providing products that empower customers and enable them to work efficiently for a successful operation. This award is a testament to the experience and capability of the employees who made this engine possible. Caterpillar thanks Diesel Progress for the opportunity to be recognized for the achievement and looks forward to future possibilities.
