Portfolio includes proven engines, advanced e-powertrain prototypes and versatile machines.
For Worldwide Release February 12, 2024
Caterpillar will showcase high-efficiency engines, next-generation e-powertrains, and multifaceted equipment at the 2024 World Ag Expo in Tulare, California, from February 13 to 15, 2024.
Located in booth JK1 in the South Exhibits, a range of Cat® diesel engines from 74 to 536 horsepower (55 to 400 kW) – specifically engineered to meet the rugged demands of agricultural applications while delivering exceptional fuel efficiency, reliability, power density, quiet operation, maintainability, and value – will be on display. These engines – the C2.2, C2.8, C3.6, C4.4, C7.1, C9 and C13 – meet U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final emission standards as well as those of other higher regulated markets.
Caterpillar will also showcase four multi-purpose machines designed for a diverse range of tasks on farms and ranches, including the Cat 313 excavator, Cat 920 loader, Cat 303 mini excavator and Cat 259 compact track loader. Equipment owners can further expand the value of these machines through a comprehensive selection of work tools, as well as on and offboard technologies and services available through the global Cat dealer network.
In addition, Caterpillar will debut its prototype demonstration project for a battery-powered field elevator with Flory Industries. Supported by Holt of California, the local Cat dealer, the prototype will demonstrate how a 600-volt battery-powered powertrain can deliver the performance, reliability and durability currently provided in this application by a conventional 74-horsepower diesel engine while reducing maintenance and operating with zero tailpipe emissions. The prototype elevator will be exhibited in the Flory booth, N18-N22 in the South Exhibits.
“Agriculture has always been a demanding business, and today’s farmers and ranchers face additional challenges in the transition to lower-carbon solutions,” said Steve Ferguson, Caterpillar senior vice president of the Industrial Power Systems Division. “With nearly a century of experience working side-by-side with equipment manufacturers and producers, Caterpillar has the expertise and diverse portfolio to deliver power solutions that optimize performance, efficiency and return on investment while addressing requirements for decarbonization.”
Expansive Support for Agriculture Equipment Manufacturers
Caterpillar and its Customer Solutions Team will be on hand to speak with OEMs on the multiple pathways to manage the energy transition by offering options for continuing with diesel engines, using alternative fuels and ordering equipment with factory-installed electrified systems.
Caterpillar produces power solutions currently used across a wide array of agriculture equipment, including tractors, harvesters, sprayers, skid steers, loaders, excavators, telehandlers, chippers, grinders, conveyers and elevators, pumps, and utility vehicles.
