For Worldwide Release: Mar 2015

Beijing, China – Caterpillar Oil & Gas will unveil its latest innovative power solutions developed specifically for the Chinese oil and gas market at the 15th China International Petroleum and Petrochemical Technology and Equipment Exhibition (CIPPE) from March 26th to 28st  in Beijing, China. Launching at this year’s exhibition is Cat® 3512C HD Land Electric-Drive Drilling Module which meets China Stage III Non-Road Mobile Emissions (6.4 NOx+HC, 3.5 CO, 0.2 PM g/kW-hr). Cat 3512C platform in 1045 ekW (60 Hz) @ 1200 rpm rating will be on display at the Caterpillar booth.

“At CIPPE 2015, we are highlighting our broad range of trusted power solutions for Asia Pacific with several new products developed specifically the region and its customers,” said Alan Zhang, Caterpillar Oil & Gas Asia Pacific China region sales manager.  “We’re pleased to feature Solar Turbines, a subsidiary of Caterpillar Inc, at our booth for the first time and commemorate forty years of Caterpillar operations in China this year!”

Also on display at the Caterpillar booth at the 2015 CIPPE Exhibition include:

  •          The Cat 3512B Land Electric Drilling Module with Dynamic Gas Blending (DGB):
The Cat 3512B Generator Set with DGB offers customers fuel flexibility without sacrificing performance and is available in a 1245 ekW (1750 kVA) @ 50 Hz (1500 rpm) rating. The Dynamic Gas Blending kit automatically adjusts to changes in incoming fuel quality and pressure allowing engines to run on a wide variety of fuels, from associated gas to vaporized LNG with no loss of performance integrity. It maintains diesel performance levels with up to 70 percent replacement of diesel with gas, accepts up to 55 percent inerts. No customer input or gas analysis is needed during operation, and no recalibration is required when the equipment is moved or the gas supply changes.
  •          TH55-E70 Transmission – The TH55-E70 transmission is optimized for petroleum pumping applications. Its evenly spaced gear ratios provide smooth shifting for pumping, providing for a much broader range of pumping speeds than the competition. The transmission with 7 speed option and deep first gear ratio creates application flexibility, and allows pumping at lower flow rates and pressure.
  •          Scale Model of GenSet ATEX Zone 2: A detailed scale model of an explosion proof Generator Set suitable for safe operation in Zone 2 hazardous areas, will be displayed on the stand, demonstrating the complexity of explosion proofing equipment. Pyroban, a Caterpillar company, offers ATEX Zone 2 explosion proof packages, fully customizable and designed to integrate with complex equipment with offerings ranging from components to complete power solutions and generator sets for a broad spectrum of applications. In addition to explosion proof packages, Pyroban offers a range of Ex products including up-fit kits for existing engines.
