DUBAI, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES – Caterpillar Inc. will launch the company’s largest range of electric power products ever at Middle East Electricity (MEE), March 2-4, 2015. Held at the Dubai World Trade Centre in the United Arab Emirates, Middle East Electricity is the world’s largest power trade show covering all sections of the power industry including generation, transmission and distribution, nuclear, renewables, and lighting.
With more than 1,250 national and international exhibitors and 18,000 attendees from 126 countries, the Middle East Electricity exhibition serves as an opportunity for Cat® dealer Mohamed Abdulrahman Al-Bahar and Caterpillar to demonstrate their unique combination of superior service and high-quality, completely integrated single-source power solutions such as UPS, generator set controls, and ATS solutions. In addition to these offerings, visitors to the booth located in Sheik Saeed Hall 3, stand 3SC30 will be able to view the global debut of ready-to-run Cat diesel generator sets with power outputs ranging from 6.8 to 220 kVA.
Cat Compact International Product Line
At MEE, Caterpillar is launching its largest range of electric power products ever – the Cat Compact International product line – for customers in the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia-Pacific, South America, and the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). Available in 32 model configurations in single-phase and three-phase, the Cat Compact International series offers four years of Extended Service Coverage (ESC) as a standard benefit for standby applications and as an option in prime-powered applications. ESC provides additional protection throughout and beyond Caterpillar’s warranty period and is fully extendable and flexible to meet customers’ needs for the life of the generator set.
Powered by market-leading Cat diesel engines, Cat Compact International diesel generator sets offer a selection of weather-protective and sound-attenuated enclosures. Each enclosure is manufactured with corrosion-resistant galvanized steel components and finished with scratch- and-rust-resistant powder-coated paint, along with high-grade thermoplastic components.
MEE Green Energy Conference
Caterpillar executives will be participating in various forums during MEE’s third-annual Green Energy Conference to discuss how to meet the demand of local energy requirements without relying on traditional sources of energy, including how to better build hybrid systems and manage grids in a variety of circumstances.
Diego Guiterrez, sales manager for Cat Power Plants, will participate as a panelist in a roundtable titled “How to Combine Traditional with Alternative Energy Sources (Creating Hybrid Systems) to Minimize the Risks Inherent with Both, and Incorporate Sustainable Energy Means.”
Rob Schueffner, commercial manager, Electric Power Division – Microgrid Team, Caterpillar, will present “The Promise of Microgrids and the Bridge This Could Establish to Get Green Going.” Schueffner will also serve as the panel moderator for the group discussion “Build Them, Maintain Them, and Link Them for Better Transmission and Efficiencies.”
Electric Power SpecSizer Training
Caterpillar will also be providing registered guests training for SpecSizer, a revolutionary tool for generator sizing. This web-based tool considers factors such as site conditions, load characteristics, transient performance and optimized algorithms to assist users in selecting optimum Cat generator sets. SpecSizer now includes features to evaluate load types such as air conditioners, elevators and Cat flywheel UPS. The tool also provides detailed sizing reports, offers accurate technical data and helps to generate guide spec documents.
Product Line Backed by Global Network
Caterpillar offers a complete line of generator sets, containerized power modules and rental units to meet continuous or temporary needs. Cat generator sets can be customized with a wide variety of attachments, components and performance options tailored to fit specific applications.
Known for its worldwide product support, with parts and service available globally through their authorized service and dealer network, Caterpillar now offers a range of bundled repair solutions. These solutions are engineered for reliable, high-quality overhauls and include genuine, value-priced Cat parts backed by a one-year warranty. In addition, dealer technicians are trained to service every aspect of Cat equipment.
