CATERPILLAR INTRODUCES THE WEB-BASED GAS ENGINE RATING PRO

For Worldwide Release: September 2019

Houston, Texas – Caterpillar is pleased to announce the new web-based interface for the Gas Engine Rating Pro (GERP). GERP is designed to provide site ratings for Cat® natural gas engines for the gas compression industry. For more than a decade, GERP has led the way in empowering project managers and engineers to give them precise information to control how they initiate and monitor their operations.

The new version of GERP no longer needs updating, insuring users have access to the most current product information. Dealers can easily submit special ratings requests (SRRs) directly through GERP. Additionally, users can securely share projects among customers and dealers through a CWS ID authentication. GERP can now be accessed on any device with an internet connection, including mobile devices.

“Since its introduction in 2004, Gas Engine Rating Pro has led the way in making project-specific engine information available to users in real-time, speeding completion of gas compression and natural gas-fueled power generation projects.  Moving to web access promises to continue that legacy, delivering reliable access to comprehensive engine data and enabling provisions for even more features that make gas engine project completion quicker and easier,” said Ken Hall, Caterpillar Oil & Gas Engineering Specialist.

One of the new features of GERP is improved project management. Users can now securely store and manage all project information for quick retrieval and monitor the progress of each project through status icons. This software also provides the same benefits from the previous version such as performance predictions, fuel analysis, drawings such as curves and graphs accessible through the document library, emissions predicting, and accelerated project completion timelines.

GERP is now available online and can be accessed by visiting, gerp.cat.com and logging in with a CWS ID authentication.
