Caterpillar to Unveil Latest Innovative Power Solutions for Oil & Gas Market at 17th CIPPE Exhibition in Beijing

Beijing, China - Caterpillar Oil & Gas will unveil latest innovative power solutions for the Asia Pacific region at the 17th China International Petroleum and Petrochemical Technology and Equipment Exhibition (CIPPE), to be held March 20-22 in Beijing.

New Cat® products and technologies featured at this year’s exhibition include Cat ConnectTM for fleet management, a Cat C15 diesel generator set with Product Link installed, Dynamic Transmission Output Control (DTOC) to enhance well service operations and Cat Electric Motors for gas compression.

“Cat Connect catches emerging technical problems early before catastrophic failure, identifies optimization opportunities and recommends configuration improvements, giving our customers the power to stay ahead of the competition.  We’re very excited and look forward to demonstrate the features and benefits of Cat Connect, DTOC and other best-in-class products to all CIPPE attendees in person at this year’s show.” said Alan Zhang, Caterpillar Oil & Gas Asia Pacific China region sales manager.

These new Cat products and technologies include:

Cat Connect. Cat Connect combines technology and services to boost your operational efficiency.  With just a few clicks, it helps you take the guesswork out of equipment management by monitoring, managing and enhancing all connected Cat equipment operations remotely through Product Link, Cat Productivity Optimiser and Advanced Condition Monitoring in four key areas:

  1. Equipment Management – Increase uptime and reduce operating costs
  2. Productivity – Monitor production and manage efficiency
  3. Safety – Enhance awareness to keep people and equipment safe
  4. Sustainability – Reduce environmental impact and simplify compliance.

Cat Electric Motors. Cat electric motors are of the AC induction type and built for low vibration and high rigidity, so you get great performance over a long, productive life. Standard features include hazardous location ratings and a high strength alloy (AISI 4140/ DIN 42CrMo4) forged, keyless shaft.  Order board is now available for 50Hz models.

Caterpillar Dynamic Transmission Output Control (DTOC).  Caterpillar DTOC technology is the answer to well service operations that typically have to be done manually.  It is compatible with current production Cat transmissions, can be integrated on a variety of control systems and is intuitively easy to manage by any experienced well service operator through three key automated functions:

1. Automated Stall Test Mode (ASTM) - Designed for pressure testing, ASTM reads torque output and automatically sets gear and engine speed to achieve desired pressure without pressure spikes.

2. Automated Speed Control (ASC) Manual-Shift - ASC allows operators to adjust flowrate while in gear and the engine automatically changes speed.   It is extremely useful during cementing, as it allows pumping at extremely low flow rates that are not possible in direct drive.

3. Automated Speed Control (ASC) Auto-shift - Operators input desired flow rate and DTOC automatically changes engine speed and gear to obtain the desired flow.
