Pioneer Pump Four-Inch
and Six-Inch Pumps

Wastewater transfer, mine dewatering, salt water disposal and emergency water removal all have one thing in common: each task requires reliable pumps to get the job done quickly and efficiently. Across the board, Pioneer Pump®, a Franklin Electric brand, remains one of the industry’s top centrifugal pump manufacturers. The company’s four-inch and six-inch Pioneer Prime diesel-driven pumps, powered by Cat® C4.4 engines, are used globally for moving high volumes of liquids and solids across a wide range of applications.

Product Overview

  • Pioneer Pump® products have the capacity to transfer high volumes of liquids and solids quickly. Four-inch pumps are able to move 800 to 1,200 gallons per minute, while the six-inch counterparts can move 2,100 to 3,000 gallons a minute.
  • Vacuum-assisted priming system and an innovative impeller allow these pumps to deliver extreme flows, even at high head capacity, more efficiently size for size compared to competitors.
  • Available in open or enclosed trailer-mounted or skid-mounted options that are DOT compliant. Both pumps can also be transported via forklift or hitched to a truck for easy transport.
  • Both pumps can be set up and left to run unattended, as they can run continuously with a fuel source.
  • Designed for simple maintenance with rugged construction and heavy-duty, easily accessed components.

Cat® Engine Overview

  • The Cat® C4.4 industrial diesel engine is offered in ratings up to 124 hp (150 kW) and peak torque of 825 Nm (609 lb-ft) which meet U.S. EPA Tier 4 Final, EU Stage V emissions standards.
  • A modular and compact core on the Cat C4.4 makes installing the engine on any number of machine applications a relative breeze. And when downsizing from five-liter platforms, OEMs can see a 20% reduction in length, 5% reduction in height and 40% reduction in weight of the engine, significantly reducing installation costs.
  • With a 15% increase in power density and 10% increase in torque when compared to its predecessor engine, the compact design of the Cat C4.4 reduces heat loss for more efficient engine output, helping operators conquer even the toughest tasks with relative ease.
  • When compared to similar six-cylinder platforms, the C4.4 saves more than 18% in fluid consumption and is specially balanced to be its most effective, every day.
  • Built-in clean emissions modules keep the Cat C4.4 performing at its peak while also keeping the air around the work site cleaner.

Pump it Up with Pioneer Pump

Wastewater transfer, mine dewatering, salt water disposal and emergency water removal all have one thing in common: each task requires reliable pumps to get the job done quickly and efficiently. Across the board, Pioneer Pump®, a Franklin Electric brand, remains one of the industry’s top centrifugal pump manufacturers.

The company’s four-inch and six-inch Pioneer Prime diesel-driven pumps, powered by Cat® C4.4 engines, are used globally for moving high volumes of liquids and solids across a wide range of applications. And when we say high volumes, we mean incredibly high volumes in a very short period of time.

“Depending on the system, the four-inch pumps can move about 800 to 1200 gallons per minute while the six-inch pumps can move around 2,100 to 3,000 gallons a minute,” said Will Hatcher, business development manager for Franklin Electric.

Doing the job better than anyone else on the market has been a core value for Pioneer Pump since its inception in 1998. It has set the standard for excellence with its Pioneer Prime vacuum-assisted priming system and enclosed innovative impeller technology.

CAT® ENGINE POWER

A 124-horsepower engine, the Cat C4.4 balances durability, fuel efficiency and low emissions. Its reliability remains steady across various applications and environments, including those most demanding and harsh. Where operators assume they can set a pump and forget it, dependability and performance expectations mean even more.

“What Pioneer and Caterpillar bring is that reliability factor. It’s about allowing very few failures and making sure that the product does exactly as it’s been commissioned to do as efficiently and consistently as possible,” Hatcher explained.

IN IT FOR THE LONG HAUL

Pioneer Pump, Caterpillar and Peterson Cat worked together to design the four-inch and six-inch pumps to run continuously with a fuel source until preventive maintenance needs arise. After all, they are expected to operate for long stretches of time without any worry. Fortunately, these strenuous demands are all in a day’s work for these pumps.

The four-inch and six-inch packages can be equipped with the environmentally safe priming system, Pioneer Prime. This technology cuts down on engine run time, yielding reduced fuel usage and improved operational efficiency. Other features such as the oversized shaft and innovative impeller allow for increased pumpage transfer, furthering the package’s efficiency size for size.

PORTABILITY OPTIONS

The four-inch and six-inch Pioneer Prime diesel-driven pumps are offered in trailer- or skid- mounted models. Both have open or enclosed options depending on the customer’s exact needs and all portable packages are DOT compliant. These pumps can also be transported by forklift or hooked up to a truck for simple transport around a jobsite.

NATIONWIDE MAINTENANCE NETWORK

When preventive maintenance is needed, Caterpillar has over 60 primary dealers across the U.S. who are ready to help crews get back to business as usual with hassle-free service.

“Caterpillar is a very well-known brand that’s preferred by a lot of people in the field, as many already have Cat equipment. Using a Cat engine, operators know they can get on-site service from a local dealer,” shared Chris Nelson, director of sales for Franklin Electric.
