The C32 marine propulsion engine is available at ratings that meet EPA Tier 3, EPA Tier 4, and IMO II/III, and EU Stage 5 emissions regulations. It has a separate circuit aftercooling system (SCAC) for A through C ratings and a seawater aftercooling system (SWAC) for D and E ratings. The C32 has several ratings with Wide Operating Speed Range (WOSR) and extended oil change intervals. Other benefits include proven engine operating history and performance iron with thousands of validation testing hours for quality and durability. The C32 marine engine is supported by the extensive Cat global dealer network and standard warranty.

With the introduction of the C32B product line in 2021, Caterpillar Marine now confirms the availability of the uprated Cat® C32B Marine Propulsion engine in 1825 - 2433 mhp offerings. With 25% more peak power and high performance, this engine demonstrates great performance and efficiency, while also delivering noise reduction at lower engine speeds. This product meets IMO II/III and U.S. EPA Tier 3 (recreational) emissions standards and is perfectly suited for yachting applications. Governmental applications can also be a great fit for D-tier ratings. Please consult with your Cat Marine dealer regarding the use of E-tier ratings.

The C9.3 ACERT propulsion engine has a B rating of 375 bhp (280 bkW) at 1800 rpm, a C rating of 416 bhp (310 bkW) at 2100 rpm, and a D rating of 476 bhp (355 bkW) at 2300 rpm. The C9.3 propulsion, auxiliary, and generator set engines have a common rail fuel system for optimal combustion and lower emissions. Cooling system options for the propulsion and auxiliary engines include heat exchanger with sea water aftercooling, and keel with combined circuit or separate circuit aftercooling. The genset packages are available with heat exchanger, keel, or radiator cooling. These products are EPA Tier 3 and IMO II certified. In addition the propulsionengine ratings are EU Stage IIIA certified and auxiliary and gen sets are also CCNR Stage II certified.

The primary advantage of the SCAC systsem is reduced aftercooler corrosion since no sea water circulates through the aftercooler. Many other improvements on these engines contribute to minimizing owning and operating costs. The EPA Tier 4, IMO II/IMO III switchable and EU Stage 5 compliant ratings are available with heat exchanger or keel cooled options. Heat exchanger configurations have an optional front mounted sea water pump.

The C4.4 also has three phase ratings of 60 Hertz at 44.0, 58.5, 76.0, and 99.0 ekW with heat exchanger cooling and of 42.0, 56.0, 72.0, and 95.0 ekW with radiator cooling. C4.4 gen set is available in 12 or 24 volt as an open gen set or as an enclosed package. Single-side servicing improves ease of maintenance and lowers overall owner operating costs. The compact package size is ideal for a wide range of commercial and pleasure craft applications. These ratings also have Marine Classification Society approved packages available.
