A simple, effective reminder

There’s nothing complicated about the Cat Seat Belt Reminder. If an operator disengages the parking brake without first putting on the seat belt, an audible alarm is triggered in the cab and a continuous light is visible in the buckle. An event is then recorded in VisionLink^® making it easy to identify operator training priorities. There’s an option to add an external beacon that alerts site managers, too. As soon as the operator buckles up, these alerts shut off.

Most machines come equipped with rollover protection systems (ROPS) and don’t move very fast. So why is reminding operators to buckle up so important? It can mean the difference between life and death. When the U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration took a look at 50+ rollover accidents, there were zero fatalities only when operators wore seat belts in ROPS-protected cabs.

Your Cat dealer can install it for you or provide a do-it-yourself kit. You can install it in 12- and 24-Volt DC systems, and it typically takes less than two hours if you use existing seat belt mounting locations.
