Ryan DeBroux depends on Cat® power to keep his fleet of six Kenworth manure-haulers hard at work in America’s dairyland. But it’s his customized, high-powered Playin' with Fire competition pull truck that really shows the power Cat truck engines can put out.
Estimated read time: 2 minutes
Season two of the Haul Talk Cat® on-highway truck engine podcast kicks off with hosts Kurt Freidinger and Zach Barrett talking engines and more with Ryan DeBroux.
Ryan owns DeBroux Custom Work, a specialty fleet that handles custom haul work and manure-hauling for dairy farms. The entire DeBroux fleet of six Kenworths is powered by Cat on-highway truck engines. But the real head-turner is DeBroux’s weekend ride. It’s his Playin' with Fire competition pull truck — powered by a Cat engine, of course.
DeBroux has been a volunteer firefighter in his community for almost 30 years. And he says the brotherhood of his local station, plus the community of giving, are very important to him.
When DeBroux decided to turn an old fleet truck into a competition pull truck, he knew two things: He wanted to honor firefighters with the truck. And he wanted a Cat on-highway truck engine under the hood.
Join Kurt and Zach in this episode of Haul Talk to learn how DeBroux carried out a serious customization job for Playin' with Fire’s Cat engine. And find out what it’s like to drive a truck that can only run at full power for about 15 seconds at a time because of the insane amount of heat the engine generates.
Check out Ryan’s story on Haul Talk.
