The Cat® PLE702 Network Manager allows you to collect and monitor the information needed to maximize the performance of your assets, proactively identify issues that may affect your operations and quickly respond to any events that may occur. The PLE702 can be connected via the LAN port to communicate operational status.

High-level security Overview

Product Link's end-to-end system is designed with multi-layer security controls and safeguards to protect against unauthorized access and disclosure. High-level security safeguards include, but are not limited to:

+ EIA RS-232 Cryptographic security controls to protect against unauthorized Product Link™ device software changes

+ Encrypted and authenticated remote connection

+ Only outbound remote connection initiated by the Product Link device is allowed. Device does not participtate in or respond to general Internet traffic.

+ Caterpillar IT infrastructure secured utilizing generally accepted information security principles and practices

+ Secure web application connection with user login authentication and role-based access controls

INDUSTRIAL PROTOCOLS

When the configuration file is loaded into the PLE702, the gateway functionality is enabled. The gateway functionality allows the customer to read equipment data using various industrial protocols over RS-232, RS-485 or TCP/IP. The standard configuration provided by Caterpillar is customized to the engine. The configuration also includes a standard protocol mapping that is consistent across all engines.
